PSL 2022: Paul Stirling to PLAY LAH vs ISL Eliminator 2?

LAH vs ISL: In an important news development, Islamabad United’s overseas player Paul Stirling has returned and will be available for the second eliminator game of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 against Lahore Qalandars. The Eliminator 2 of the Pakistan Super League T20 will be played on 25 February (Friday) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The Islamabad United are coming off a remarkable 5-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator 1 encounter.

In a big boost for the Islamabad United side, Paul Stirling has returned to Pakistan and will be available to play in the important knockout encounter against Lahore Qalandars on Friday. The senior Ireland cricketer has already tested negative for COVID-19 upon landing in Pakistan and also joined the Islamabad United camp. Stirling played the first 5 games in this Pakistan Super League 2022 season where he scored a fine tally of 187 runs at a phenomenal strike-rate of more than 181 that included as many as two half-centuries.

Paul Stirling is expected to straightaway walk into the Islamabad United playing 11 for the Eliminator 2 game against Lahore Qalandars. The Irish batsman is very much likely to replace Will Jacks at the top of the order. Stirling will reunite with his opening partner Alex Hales and both these batters performed really well as a pair during the initial stage of PSL 2022.

Pakistan Super League T20: Lahore Qalandars vs Islamabad United

Both these teams witnessed quite different results in their respective previous outings in this Pakistan Super League T20. The Lahore Qalandars ended up conceding a disappointing 28-run defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans in the Qualifier 1. However, the Qalandars now have a great chance to redeem themselves and book a place in the final by defeating Islamabad United in this Eliminator 2.

The winner of the Eliminator 2 encounter will be facing the Multan Sultans in the final of PSL 2022 on 27 February (Sunday) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
