As DC were chasing 166 runs aggregated by the PBKS in the first innings, DC openers- Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan gave an explosive start as they knit a 63-run first-wicket partnership between the two. Amid DC’s early consolidation, the incident happened in the third over of the second innings when PBKS bowler- Riley Meredith’s 141.kph short of length delivery hit Shaw on the crotch.
The injury-marred Shaw fell on the ground and laid there for a couple of minutes. Soon DC physio walked in seeing Shaw groaning in pain.
However, a sigh of relief came for the fans moments after the incident when Shaw hilariously laughed while looking inside his track pant.

As DC beat PBKS, they not only registered their sixth win but also have surged to the top of the points table with 12 points. PBKS are still aching with just the six points and have a lot more to do as they currently sit at the sixth position on the points table.
While DC have a couple of days for their next clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scheduled on Saturday, PBKS have a task at hand as they are slated to square off Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their next match on Thursday. Especially with their original captain KL Rahul away having diagnosed with acute appendicitis, the job for the men in red is all the more heightened.
