The Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw who had an average IPL 2020 and disastrous Australia test series was dropped from the Indian side after continuos failures. After having special training sessions with former cricketer and Delhi Capitals batting coach for 1 week, he made a smashing comeback in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 and emerged as the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Before this match, he had scored 256 runs in 7 matches at an average of 42.66. In the match against KKR, he gave a glorious start to the team by scoring 6 fours off Shivam Mavi’s over. The bowler was shell-shocked by the timing and placement of the batsmen.

Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw script an easy win for DC
The openers of the Delhi Capitals team Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan has been terrific in the tournament and are in the top 3 of the leading run-scorers charts. After the team got a target of 155 on the board, they have continued their good form in this match as well. Shikhar Dhawan scored 46 runs and Prithvi Shaw amassed 82 off 41 balls. Shikhar Dhawan again became the leading run-scorer in the IPL 2021 with 311 runs.
