In Rahul and Iyer’s absence, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav emerged as consistent performers in ODIs. While Samson boasts an impressive average of 55, Yadav’s prowess in the T20 format has garnered trust within the team management.
Tilak Varma’s inclusion also made headlines, given his impactful debut in T20Is and all-round capabilities.
As per Asia Cup regulations, teams can opt for 17-player squads. Correspondingly, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal have already announced their 17-member squads for the event.
