CSK Playing 11: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will kick off their campaign against last edition’s runner-up Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2022 opening match scheduled on 26th April at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While the four-time champions have managed to keep the core team intact, it will be interesting to watch how the new signings perform for the Whistle Podu Army, especially Devon Conway who will pair up with the last edition’s Orange Cap holder Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top.

Chennai Super Kings have a few availability issues in starting few games. England’s star all-rounder and CSK’s one of the key all-rounders Moeen Ali is unavailable for the opening clash against Kolkata Knight Riders due to VISA issues.
In the bowling department, the MS Dhoni-led side will be without their main pacer Deepak Chahar for starting few games as he is recovering from the injury and hasn’t joined the squad yet. Dwaine Pretorius is also unavailable due to national commitments and is likely to join the squad after the Bangladesh ODI series.
