However, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly recently announced that India will be touring Sri Lanka to play three ODIs and three T20Is between June-July 2021. Suryakumar Yadav will bat at number three due to his remarkable half-century on T20I debut innings against England. With Shreyas Iyer struggling with shoulder injury, one of Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson will play at number 4 as the wicket-keeper batsman.

Due to lack of bowling fitness, Hardik Pandya may have been ignored from India’s Test squad but he will play a pivotal role as a specialist batsman in Sri Lanka. Krunal Pandya will be India’s all-rounder pick as he will come very much handy both with the bat and ball in the Lankan conditions. The duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Yuzvendra Chahal will be the two frontline spinners while the trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar and Harshal Patel will take care of the pace bowling department.
