We have plenty of match-winners: Smriti Mandhana

Team India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana believes that India has plenty of match-winners in the team and she is confident about India’s good show in the ICC women’s world T20.

The team goal is to win the World T20: Mandhana

The opening batter was speaking with bcci.tv ahead of the World T20 in Windies. She said that her goal is very simple in this World Cup, she wants to give great start to the team because she is an opener.

Speaking about the team goal,  she said that of course, it is to win the World T20. Mandhana noted that in the last time they reached the finals in the 50-over format.

She also revealed that the first aim of the team is to reach semis and then the final.

Mandhana feels their group is ‘very tough’

The Indian women cricketer is also aware of the challenges presented by other teams. She admits that their group is very tough and in T20 it is about the day.

At the same time, she is confident about her team. She believes that Indian team has a lot of match winners in the team,  and feels that on a given day anyone can win you a Twenty20 match.

India are placed in group B. It consists of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan.

Team India’s schedule for the Women’s World T20

India will start their world cup campaign on 9th November by locking horns against New Zealand. Then the team will play the big match against arch-rivals Pakistan on 11th November.

Afterwards, India will meet Ireland on 15th November and will have a go against the mighty Australians on 17th November.

The semi-finals of the tournament are scheduled on 22nd and 23rd November while the finals will be played on 25th November.
