The Punjab Kings are hosting Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali in Match no 27 of Tata IPL 2023. The Kings are fresh of a win from their last game over LSG and they did it without the services of their skipper Shikhar Dhawan who was unfit for the game. Shikhar once again misses out due to his injury, but one big name who is missing out today is the South African paceman Kagiso Rabada.
PBKS vs RCB: Why is Kagiso Rabada Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?
In what comes as a surprise move, the tall lanky South African pacer Kagiso Rabada misses out and is replaced by the Australian paceman Nathan Ellis. This comes as a huge surprise given the form Rabada is in and his numbers against the likes of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Virat Kohli. Rabada has picked up 16 wickets against RCB in just 7 games. The right-arm pacer has got the best of the three mentioned names many a times in the IPL and him missing out is a shocking decision. The stand-in skipper Sam Curran didn’t mention any injury for Rabada and there is no clarity over why he has been dropped. Check out what Sam Curran said at the toss,
“We will bowl first, did well in the last game and we’ll take some confidence, conditions will not change a lot. Shikhar is getting closer, but he’ll miss out today. He’s a quality player, but the younger lot will have to shape up, Livingstone is back and we have Ellis back in place of KG.”
