MI Playing 11: Defending champions Mumbai Indians will face Punjab Kings in an important encounter of IPL 2021 here at Chennai. With 2 wins and as many losses, the season has been a mixed bag for Mumbai so far. Both Mumbai and Punjab have played 26 matches against each other in which Mumbai lead 14:12. In the last season, both teams won a game each which also included a Super Over win for Punjab. After a close loss to Delhi, Rohit Sharma’s men will look to return to winning ways.
With Gayle and Pooran in the Kings’ lineup, expect another game for offspinner Jayant Yadav. MI are likely to continue the same combination. Here is how their eleven could be shaped up for this match:
MI Playing 11 (likely)
R Sharma (C)
Q de Kock (wk)
S Yadav
I Kishan
K Pollard
H Pandya
K Pandya
J Yadav
R Chahar
T Boult
J Bumrah
Mumbai haven’t yet found its groove this season but they have the ability to bounce back strongly. They will hope Rohit Sharma to convert his starts into big ones. With middle order misfiring, the pressure will be on Pollard and Pandya brothers to deliver with the bat. Bowling has been impressive for MI with Bumrah leading from the front and well supported by Boult. Rahul Chahar has been exceptional with his wicket-taking ability in the middle overs.
