The good news for the Punjab Kings is that their premier batsman Jonny Bairstow is available for selection and has completed his mandatory isolation period. Bairstow is expected to be included in the PBKS playing 11 for the upcoming IPL match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on 8 April, 2022 (Friday). The English wicket-keeper batsman is very much likely to replace Bhanuka Rajapaksa who has scored as many as 83 runs in the last three matches.

While playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jonny Bairstow played some crucial knocks during the IPL 2021 season. The swashbuckling right-handed batsman smashed a total of 248 runs from just 7 games at an impressive strike-rate of more than 140. The Punjab Kings bought Jonny Bairstow in the IPL 2022 Mega auction for a whopping amount of INR 6.75 Crore.
