I AM ON CLOUD NINE: RISHABH PANT
“When I heard that I was been included for the Indian Test squad, it was a great moment for me. I wanted to be a part of the Indian Test squad for the longest time. It was more like a dream come true for me. It is hard for me to describe that feeling in words. My family along with coach Tarek Sinha Sir helped me a lot in understanding the game very early in my life. He wished that I could be a part of Test cricket for India and when I got selected, he was very happy for me”, Pant said.
DIFFERENCE IN SHOT SELECTION
When asked about the differences between limited overs format and the longer version of the game, Pant said,”As such, there’s not much difference between the two, except for the shot selection. In the case of test cricket, with the field placements, you can look around, take your time to adjust, because you have five long days to play. On the other hand, in limited overs cricket, you have a limited number of balls to hit and score.”
“So far, I have enjoyed my preparation with red ball cricket. In England, the Duke ball swings a lot, so initially when I started playing here, I realised that”, he explained.
ALL THANKS TO DRAVID SIR
He also gave credits to India A coach Rahul Dravid, he said,”He always tells me to play very patiently. Patience is everything, be it on or off the field. He also advises me to work harder on my game. Because I am a hitter but at times you need to play to the situation. The pace of the game changes and so, you need to change your game accordingly. These learning have helped me a lot”, he concluded.
