PAK vs WI 3rd T20I to go on as per Schedule? Here’s the update

PAK vs WI 3rd T20I: In a big recent development, the Pakistan vs West Indies third and final T20I match will go on as per schedule and the game will be played on 16 December at the National Stadium in Karachi. After five more members of the West Indies contingent recently tested positive for COVID-19, the remaining 14 players of the visiting squad have returned negative tests and the game is expected to start on its original time at 6:30 PM IST. Pakistan have already sealed the three-match T20I series in their favour by winning the first two games.

Earlier in the day, it was revealed that five more members of the West Indies contingent namely Team Physician Dr. Akshai Mansingh, Assistant Coach Roddy Estwick and players Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein and Justin Greaves have tested positive for COVID-19 and the now the total positive cases in the visiting camp comes to 9. However, many of the famous Pakistan journalists have now reported that the remainder of the 14 players from the Windies squad have tested negative and the hosts are expecting that the final T20I and the following three-match ODI series will go on as per the original schedule.

“All three players will therefore miss the upcoming matches and all five individuals will remain isolated from the rest of the West Indies squad and are now under the care and supervision provided by the medical officials. They will remain in isolation for ten (10) days or until they return negative PCR test results,” a Cricket West Indies release stated.
“CWI and PCB Officials will be meeting on Thursday morning, once all members of the touring party have been tested again, to determine whether the tour can continue,” the release added.

Pakistan vs West Indies
After the completion of the three-match T20I series, West Indies were scheduled to play three ODI matches against Pakistan on 18, 20 and 22 December respectively. According to the original schedule, all the three ODI matches will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi. However, there are also reports coming in that the final T20I will go on as per schedule while the ODI series will be played later.
