Fakhar Zaman PAK vs SA: In a big breaking news development, Pakistan’s premier left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman is not playing this crucial game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against South Africa scheduled to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Pakistan ended up registering an impressive 6-wicket victory over Netherlands which was their first win in the ongoing edition of the T20 tournament. The Pakistan side desperately want to win this match against South Africa in order to stay alive in the competition.
PAK vs SA: Why is Fakhar Zaman Not Playing Today’s Pakistan vs South Africa T20 World Cup 2022 Match?
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan captain Babar Azam stated that Fakhar Zaman will not be available for the remainder of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Zaman has sustained a posterior cruciate ligament injury to his right knee after playing the lone game against Netherlands in this competition where he scored 20 runs off 16 balls. Fakhar was originally not part of the Pakistan squad for this T20 tournament and was a last-minute inclusion in place of leg-spinner Usman Qadir. Surprisingly, Pakistan have straightway included replacement player Mohammad Haris in the playing 11 for this must-win match against South Africa. Haris has scored a total of 441 runs from 23 T20 games at a strike-rate of close to 135.
“We will bat. Put runs on the board and then place them under pressure in the chase. We will try and give our best and then move forward. One change for us – Fakhar misses out, Haris is in,” said Pakistan skipper Babar Azam during the toss.
