Watch: Kagiso Rabada sends Abid Ali’s stumps cartwheeling
On day one of the first Test, South Africa was bundled out for 220 runs and Pakistan had to survive a tense period of 18 overs. And their task was made difficult by Kagiso Rabada who was breathing fire.
Rabada took only two overs to deliver the first blow. In the fifth over of Pakistan’s innings, Rabada bowled a good length ball that didn’t bounce much. Abid Ali, who was on strike, made the fatal mistake of staying on the back-foot. He completely misjudged the length and the ball stormed through his bat and pad to crash on the off-stump. Such was Rabada’s pace that the off-stump went cart-wheeling, a sight rare in cricket these days.
