Shah is set to miss the fifth T20I between Pakistan and England in Lahore. Shah was admitted to the hospital on earlier on Tuesday evening amid a serious viral infection. According to a few sources, Shah was suffering the chest pain and fever since Tuesday, after the team reached Lahore from Karachi.
Moreover, if the reports are to be believed, tests for dengue had been carried out as the mosquito-borne infections have been spreading all over the city following the drastic natural calamities.
Stating the matter, a PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) official said, “He was taken to hospital with a viral infection but he is feeling better now.”
Although, the righty pacer is now said to be fine, but his participation in the remaining games too, is under doubt. Shah played the first game of the series on September 20, in Karachi but went on to miss the three more. He turned out to be an expensive one as he finished his spell of four overs, conceding 41 runs without a wicket.
“He will not be playing tonight and any decision on whether he plays the remaining matches will be taken on advice of medical panel,” added the statement.
More to the point, Shah is a part of Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, starting from October 16.
