The England Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed the playing XI for the first of the three Pakistan vs England Test match scheduled to start from Thursday in Rawalpindi. The big news is that hard-hitting white-ball specialist Liam Livingstone will be making his Test debut for England while left-handed batsman Ben Duckett is all set to make his comeback in the longer format of the game. In a really surprising move, the England team management has decided to go ahead with just three specialist bowlers in James Anderson, Ollie Robinson and Jack Leach while skipper Ben Stokes will now have to contribute much more with the ball and Livingstone can also provide some crucial overs of spin bowling.
In his first-class career so far, Livingstone has scored more than 3000 runs that includes 15 half-centuries and 7 hundreds. He has also taken as many as 43 wickets at an average of 36.13. On the other hand, Ben Duckett last played a Test match for England in 2016 against India having scored 110 runs from 4 games that includes a fifty as well.
