IPL Start Date: The much awaited Indian Premier League 2022 Auction got concluded in last weekend. Now, there have been speculations about the start date of Indian Premier League 2022 for the last few days. With covid graph on a downward trajectory, the BCCI is mulling to organize the tournament in multiple venues. Here is the latest update about the start date of the tournament.
IPL Start Date
The Star Sports Network, which is the official broadcaster of the Indian Premier League in India has sought BCCI to start the tournament on March 26, which falls on Saturday. This is due to the chances of double headers and high public viewership on TV and app in the the weekends, which may give a fine headstart to their IPL 2022 campaign.
“We understand that a Saturday start helps the broadcaster to kick-start the league with a bang with three matches in the first weekend. A Sunday inauguration would not permit that. The BCCI and the broadcasters were in discussion over this and eventually it could be on March 26,” Franchise official said.
