MS Dhoni IPL: Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals locked horns in an all-important IPL contest yesterday. Both the teams were coming into the game at Wankhede with similar starts to their season and both were desperate for some points. At a crucial juncture in RR chase, MS Dhoni again showed his cricketing acumen to the world.
MS Dhoni Masterclass!
Chasing 189 runs to win, Rajasthan Royals were going great guns at one point of time. With Jos Buttler firing on all cylinders, RR were in more than just decent position to knock-off the runs. Chennai spinners were struggling to grip the ball as there was significant dew on the ground. As a result, they were missing their lengths and Jos Buttler was striking them easily.

With one of the sixes, ball went into the stands deep and the ball has to be replaced with a new one. As soon as the new ball came, MS Dhoni backed Ravindra Jadeja for one more over as the ball was now dry. He told Jadeja straight away, “Sukha Ball hai, ghumega!”(Meant Ball might turn now due to dryness). And left-arm spinner castled Jos Buttler with a beauty on subsequent delivery. MS Dhoni sensed the opportunity and brought Moeen Ali from the other end, he also ended up taking 3 scalps and this little period of play proved to be a decisive one in the end.
CSK Triumphant at Wankhede!
After being put in to bat first, Chennai Super Kings piled on 188 runs from their 20 overs. There were some useful contributions from Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu while young Chetan Sakariya picked up 3 scalps for RR.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals batting line-up failed to capitalize on a good start from Jos Buttler. CSK spinners took the center-stage late in the innings as Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
