IPL 2023 to be played on home-away basis; MS Dhoni and Chepauk to reunite for the upcoming season

As confirmed by the authorities and Sourav Ganguly himself, the IPL is set to continue on a home-away basis. Therefore, in 2023, CSK and Dhoni will be back together at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium, also called, the Chepauk.

The last Dhoni played at the Chepauk for CSK was back in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic had forced the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) to relocate the tournament to UAE twice. The CSK fans and the followers overall will get to see their four-time champion side, once again, at the home.

Besides, after a disappointing run in the 2022 season, CSK and Dhoni will be aiming for a breakthrough in the upcoming edition. Dhoni retired from international cricket a couple of years ago. The last he played for India was in the 2019 ICC men’s Cricket World Cup Semi-Final.

The 2023 IPL edition could be the ‘final dance’ for the legendary Indian skipper and as he has mentioned before, Dhoni would bid farewell to cricket after playing in front of the Chennai crowd, at his home ground.
