Most Test five-wicket hauls in India: India may not be in a better position on Day 2 of the 4th Border Gavaskar Trophy Test, but Indian offie Ravichandran Ashwin has something to cheer about. Ashwin scalped 6 wickets in the first innings for 91 runs and was the lynchpin of India’s bowling attack in the first innings.

Ashwin may be behind Anil Kumble when it comes to most Test 5-wicket hauls among Indians, but he has surely surpassed the legendary bowler when it comes to most five-wicket hauls by an Indian in India. With a 5-fer against Australia in the ongoing 4th Test, Ashwin now has 26 five-wicket hauls in India, which is one more than Anil Kumble who had 25 against his name.
Australia in a strong position
The Australian batting which has been under scrutiny throughout the series has finally got going. Batting first in the Ahmedabad Test on a batting friendly wicket, the visitors have managed to score 460 runs in the first innings. Usman Khawaja and all-rounder Cameron Green scored brilliant tons and were the architect of their team’s score. Khawaja and Green scored their first-ever Test ton in India.
