Former legendary Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya owns the record for hitting the most sixes (31) during the first-ever edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008. West Indies big-hitting opener Chris Gayle who has played for RCB, KKR and PBKS so far is definitely a six-hitting machine as he went on to feature as many as four times in the list of hitting most sixes in a single IPL season. Gayle also holds the record for smashing the most number of sixes in an IPL season as he hit a total of 59 sixes in 2012 while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The likes of Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul are the Indian cricketers part of this list. Other than Chris Gayle, Australia’s swashbuckling batsman Glenn Maxwell also won the award for most sixes in a single IPL season more than once in 2014 and 2017.
