This IPL season has been of highest quality so far. The tournament has gone into its business end and except Mumbai Indians, all the teams are fighting for a place in the playoffs. As the wickets in this season have been extremely good to batters, which is in contrast to last 2 IPL seasons that happened in UAE where the wickets were not conducive to stroke making, the top order batsmen from each team are enjoying themselves in this season so far.
Most runs for each IPL team in IPL 2022
Teams | Players | Matches | Runs | Average | Strike rate |
Rajasthan Royals | Jos Buttler | 10 | 588 | 65 | 150 |
Lucknow Supergiants | KL Rahul | 10 | 451 | 56 | 145 |
Gujarat Titans | Hardik Pandya | 8 | 308 | 51 | 135 |
Sunrisers Hyderabad | Abhishek Sharma | 9 | 324 | 36 | 133 |
Royal Challengers Bangalore | Faf du Plessis | 10 | 278 | 27 | 125 |
Delhi Capitals | David Warner | 7 | 264 | 44 | 156 |
Punjab Kings | Shikhar Dhawan | 9 | 307 | 38 | 126 |
Kolkata Knight Riders | Shreyas Iyer | 10 | 324 | 36 | 133 |
Chennai Super Kings | Shivam Dube | 8 | 247 | 35 | 159 |
Mumbai Indians | Tilak Varma | 9 | 307 | 43 | 137 |
Except Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, all the other teams have their one of the top 3 batsmen as the highest run scorer for the season. David Warner is the leading run getter for Delhi Capitals inspite of missing their first 3 games shows how poorly their other batters have fared in this season so far.

Jos Buttler- The front runner to win orange cap
Jos Buttler is in dream form at the moment. Although he seems to have lost his gas a bit as compared to the first 7 games in the competition, he is still a massive force to reckon with, for the oppositions. He is 137 runs ahead of KL Rahul who is the 2nd leading run scorer in the season. It requires some massive effort from KL Rahul to overtake Jos Buttler in this list at the end of the season.
