The test rankings were dominated by the Englishmen and the Aussies. The former England captain, who relieved his captaincy duties to focus on his batting, stood up for the team. With 1098 runs, he finished 2022 as the leading run scorer in tests. Australian opener, Usman Khawaja, ranked second with 1079 runs with a strike rate of 51.62.
