As this edition of ICC Men’s ODI World Cup offers a lot of twists and turns, we have witnessed that runs are flowing venue by venue. There are two totals of 400s and plenty of 300+ totals in a single innings.
With this trend, Batsmen are also summing up their aggregate match by match. Quinton de Kock, Virat Kohli and Rachin Ravindra have achieved the feat of 500+ runs this edition. Only five players have managed more than 600 in a single edition.
Let’s take a look at the most runs scored by a batsman in a single edition. Is there anyone from this edition who has entered the top 10 list?

Tendulkar holds the record for most runs in a single edition of the World Cup (673) in the 2003 tournament.
In the 2019 edition of the tournament, India’s Rohit Sharma was the leading run-scorer with 648 runs in nine outings. During his run, Sharma scored a record five tons, more than any other batter in one World Cup. The Indian captain now has seven centuries in his overall World Cup tally, which takes him past Sachin Tendulkar. He is also holding the fifth position in this edition.
Behind him, in the runs tally for the tournament hosted in England were David Warner (647), Shakib Al Hasan (606), Kane Williamson (578) and Joe Root (556) – all of them featured in the 2019 World Cup including Rohit Rohit Sharma.
South Africa opener, Quinton de Kock (556) has entered the top 10 list for this current edition. He is the 1st South African to achieve this feat.
India batsman Virat Kohli is also there, just 4 runs short of surpassing no. 10 batsman Martin Guptill and there are at least two matches left for him.
Rachin Ravindra (523) is also around the corner to achieve this feat. Hope they make it and build this edition like the 2019 Edition.
