Whenever the arch-rivals India and Pakistan have faced off against each other in major ICC events, the men in blue always had an upper hand. But that was not the case 3 years ago in the Champions Trophy final where Pakistan shattered Virat Kohli’s dream of winning a major ICC trophy as a captain. The person who led the damage on the Indian batting attack on that day, Mohammad Amir went on the memory lane to share the memories of that day.
When Mohammad Amir ripped through the Indian line up
India went to the final on full confidence. They had already beaten their neighbours in their opening match of the tournament. Dominating performances against other top teams in the tournament added to their confidence.

India started off as favourites, chasing a 339-run target set by Pakistan the men in blue had the upper hand with their powerful batting line-up. But the left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Amir had other plans. His fiery inswingers in the early part of the innings were too hot for the popular Indian batting line up. He single-handedly took the match away from Indians by dismantling India’s top 3- Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli cheaply.

Mohammad Amir and Sarfaraz Khan trolls India
It was probably one of the highest moments of his career. He wasted no time in sharing these memories on the third anniversary of the event. He posted a picture of him from that match with the caption:
“One of the best day of my life champions trophy final 2017 ALHUMDULILAH”
The then Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmad responded to the tweet and replied that it was one of the best spells that he had ever seen. Both of them later went onto troll the Indian cricket team. Sarfaraz pointed to Amir that he wanted to bowl the seventh over as well. Amir responded to it by taking a dig at the Indian team by commenting that the game was over much before that was needed.

Pakistan went onto bat first and made a mammoth 338 runs at the back of a tremendous century by Fakhar Zaman. He slammed his maiden ODI century to guide Pakistan to a massive total. He was dismissed on the first ball of the fourth over but it turned out to be a front-foot no-ball. After that ball, he was in full control and went onto score 114 runs which included 12 fours and 3 sixes.
The only fightback from India came from the all-rounder Hardik Pandya, he attacked every Pakistan bowler but was unfortunately run out with misunderstanding in the middle between him and Jadeja. He slammed 76 off 43 deliveries.
