The Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Royal challengers Bangalore in an IPL 2021 tournament opener. There have been doubts about players availability in this match due to the quarantine rules. The South African players arrived in India on April 5 and were said to undergo quarantine rules. While Devdutt Paddikal joined the squad yesterday after recovering from the virus and following all guidelines. There has been no confirmed news about Daniel Sams who was found positive a few days back. The tournament opener will be played in Chennai at 7:30 pm, behind closed doors.

Quinton De Kock unavailable for the first game
The South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton De Kock will be unavailable for the first game due to his late arrival in India. After arriving in India on April 5, he will have to follow the 7 days quarantine like all the other players. He was the mainstay for the South Africa team in the ODI series against Pakistan. Chris Lynn will be the opener for the team in the 1st IPL match. The South Africa players featured in the first 2 ODIs and then took a flight to India for playing in the IPL. The tournament has been the first priority for the cricket boards due to the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to take place in India later this year.

Bowling attack for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021
The core team players like Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, and Trent Boult will be available for the team from the 1st game. The all-rounder Krunal Pandya is coming into this tournament after a successful series against England. The Australian fast bowler Nathan Coulter Nile was released and then picked up again in the IPL 2021 Auction. The team picked New Zealand players Adam Milne and James Neesham who will be the backup option for the team.
