Ishan Kishan Not Playing Today in MI vs PBKS: In a massive update from the second Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match today, left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan has been dropped from the Mumbai Indians (MI) playing 11 for the important game against Punjab Kings (PBKS). This is the second time in the ongoing edition of the tournament when he has been left out of the side due to his poor form. Ishan’s disappointing form is a massive setback as he is also part of the India’s 15-member squad for this year’s ICC T20 World Cup.
Why is Ishan Kishan Not Playing Today?
Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After losing three games in a row, Rohit mentioned that they are forced to make some important changes in the playing XI and that is the reason Saurabh Tiwary and Nathan Coulter-Nile have come in for Ishan Kishan and Adam Milne. In a horrendous season this year, Ishan has managed to score just 107 runs from 8 games and hasn’t scored a single half-century.
Mumbai Indians Playing 11: Rohit Sharma(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult.

“We’ll look to bowl first. Just a team plan, nothing specific. It’s a good pitch to bat on, so pretty simple actually. As a team we do understand where we stand at the moment and we also understand that we haven’t played to the best of our potential. We know where we’ve made mistakes and hopefully we can correct it tonight. Because of where we stand at the moment, we have had to make some difficult changes which we didn’t want to do. A couple of changes: Ishan goes out and Tiwary comes in and NCN comes in for Milne,” said MI captain Rohit Sharma at the toss.
