MI vs CSK IPL 2019: Malinga unavailable and other team news

Sri Lanka speedster Lasith Malinga has been summoned to play in the domestic One-Day tournament, SLC Super Provincial One Day Tournament 2019, by SLC. The tournament is slated to begin from April 4 and the speedster will miss upcoming few games for Mumbai Indians, including MI vs CSK.
Jason Behrendorff has arrived for Mumbai Indians after One Day International series against Pakistan in Dubai. The Australian quick is likely to come in for Malinga.
Statement of SLC on Malinga
“Yes, he (Malinga) will be reaching Sri Lanka tomorrow and will be available for the provincial tournament,” said Sri Lanka’s chief selector Asantha de Mel said while speaking to Sportstar.
The SLC permitted the star bowler to feature in the IPL, stating that the “level of competition would be higher and help him prepare better for the big event.”
“He wanted to play the provincial tournament. Last week, we had agreed to release him for the entire IPL, but now he wants to play in this tournament,” added the chief selector of Sri Lanka.
The SLC Super Provincial tournament is seen as rehearsal and also trials for the World Cup 2019 squad selection. There are four Sri Lankan sides in the tournament, led respectively by Dinesh Chandimal (Colombo), Lasith Malinga (Galle), Dimuth Karunaratne (Kandy) and Angelo Mathews (Dambulla).
