MI vs PBKS: Mumbai Indians lost their first four league games in 2015 but went on to win the trophy to become the 2nd time champion in IPL history. They will be looking to take inspiration from that season to bounce back now. They keep making selection blunders and some awful captaincy by Rohit Sharma on the field is not helping them either.
Lets take a look at the possible composition of Mumbai Indians for the all important game against Punjab Kings
MI vs PBKS IPL 2022: Will MI consider Riley Meredith?
The lanky Australian fast bowler in Riley Meredith hasn’t been given an opportunity in the first four games for MI even though there was a window for him to play in the XI. Mumbai Indians haven’t shown enough trust in Tim David and Tymal Mills in this season so far. It is terrible to drop Tim David after just 2 games in the season and play an unproven Dewald Brevis at first place.
Mumbai Indians can easily drop Basil Thampi and Jaydev Unadkat and play both Riley Meredith and Tymal Mills which would significantly boost their bowling attack by a mile or play Fabian Allen in place of Ramandeep Singh.
The form of Kieron Pollard is a concern for them. The Caribbean captain gives them that security at the lower middle order, now with him being not in great form, the misery only piles on for Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma in IPL has been a flop show for the past so many years, although expecting him to score runs at this stage is beyond reach, his quality is for everyone to see, one can only hope for the Indian captain to come good at some point in time.
