Ahead of their match against LSG, RCB has received a massive injury blow in the form of English all-rounder David Willey as he has fractured his toe and has adductor strain which has ruled him out of the IPL.

English all-rounder David Willey becomes the third Englishmen from RCB to get ruled out of the ongoing Tata IPL. Before Willey, Will Jacks and Reece Topley already got ruled out due to injuries and were replaced by Michael Bracewell and Wayne Parnell respectively.

Willey’s injury is a big blow for RCB, but they have roped in Indian veteran batter Kedar Jadhav for his second stint with RCB. The right-hander batter has previously represented RCB in the 2016-17 season. Talking about his IPL career, Jadhav has played 93 matches in the IPL after making his debut in 2010. He has 1196 runs to his name at a strike-rate of 123.2 including 4 fifties. His last IPL stint was in the 2021 season with Sunrisers Hyderabad where he played only 6 games and scored 55 runs at a dismal average of 13.75.

David Willey IPL 2023 Salary

England’s David Willey was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 2 Crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction. Despite receiving limited opportunities to play during the tournament, the RCB management has decided to retain the left-arm pace bowler in their squad for IPL 2023.
