During the toss, Punjab Kings stand-in skipper Sam Curran mentioned that Liam Livingstone is not part of the PBKS playing XI for today’s LSG vs PBKS IPL 2023 match. Just after the last match, Punjab Kings regular captain Shikhar Dhawan revealed that Livingstone had pulled off his muscle during the training session and was not available for selection. Incidentally, the England swashbuckling batsman was earlier awaiting fitness clearance from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as he had not played any competitive cricket since suffering a knee injury in December 2022. It is still unclear as to when Liam Livingstone will be completely fit and available for selection in IPL 2023.

“We’ll bowl first. Something we haven’t done all season. Shilkhar picked up an injury last game, don’t know how bad it is but hopefully he won’t be out long. His absence is huge, we’ve got two Indian batters coming in and Raza is back in the XI. The conditions looks good,” said Punjab Kings stand-in captain Sam Curran during the toss.
