Unfortunately, LSG captain KL Rahul will not be part of the team for today’s LSG vs MI match and for the remainder of the IPL 2023 season. The LSG skipper suffered a hip injury while fielding in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, causing him to miss the rest of the T20 competition. He is currently in London where he underwent a successful thigh surgery and will not participate in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia in June 2023.
Rahul had been performing exceptionally well for the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023, scoring a total of 274 runs in 9 matches, which included two half-centuries. In his absence, left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya will lead the team for the remainder of the T20 competition.
