The crucial news development coming from the Gujarat Titans (GT) camp is that they have dropped domestic middle-order batsman Sai Sudharsan in their sixth encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Things did not worked out very well for the Gujarat Titans recently in the ongoing 16th edition of the IPL as they suffered a poor 3-wicket defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in their last encounter.

LSG vs GT: Why is Sai Sudharsan Not Playing Today IPL Match?

After having won the toss and opting to bat first, the Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya revealed that Sai Sudharsan is not part of the GT playing XI in today’s LSG vs GT IPL 2023 match. Incidentally, Sudharsan is also not even part of the five substitute members out of which one can be used as an Impact Player at any moment in the game. While playing for the Gujarat Titans, the southpaw batsman has batted really well so far in IPL 2023 season having scored 176 runs from 5 games at an average of 44 which includes a match-winning knock of 62 runs. The Gujarat Titans are instead playing both Vijay Shankar and Abhinav Manohar in the side during this game against Lucknow Super Giants.

“We will bat first. Looks like a slow track, want to get the best out of it. There is no time to test our batters now. I am sure they have would have batted first as well if they won the toss. They’re doing a fantastic job. I think on this wicket, the better option is to bat first. We’re not worried about our record while chasing. Even if the records say that we still have to do a good job. Alzarri misses out and Noor Ahmad comes in,” said Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya during the toss.
