The T20I format has been bringing the best out of Indian players in recent years as the likes of Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli have found their way to establishing themselves as one of the best in the business. To back their claim as the best batters in the World in T20I format, they have also scored hundreds on multiple occasions.
Player | Hundreds | |
1. | Rohit Sharma | 4 |
2. | KL Rahul | 2 |
3. | Suresh Raina | 1 |
4. | Deepak Hooda | 1 |
5. | Suryakumar Yadav | 1 |
6. | Virat Kohli | 1 |
1. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is not only the player with the most T20I hundreds for India but also the most hundreds on the global stage. Rohit has scored four International T20 hundreds, with his first ton coming in October 2015 against South Africa. The versatile Indian would later go on to add another three hundreds to his tally and stamp his authority as one of the best T20I players of all time.
2. KL Rahul
Rohit’s partner in crime at the opening, KL Rahul joined the illustrious list in August 2016 when he amassed 110 unbeaten in just 51 deliveries. Interestingly, the ton came to the USA while India were on the West Indies tour. And like Rohit’s first T20I ton, India lost the match. Rahul would later add another hundred to his ranks in July 2018 against England in Manchester at the iconic Old Trafford.
3. Suresh Raina
In the 2010 T20 World Cup in the West Indies, Suresh Raina became the first Indian to score a T20I hundred. This though remains a very special achievement in the Indian cricketing history as he became the first Indian to score a hundred in all the three formats of the game. His only hundred came against South Africa in St Lucia.
4. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli may have taken a long time to feature on the list, but it also saw the end of his 1019 days wait for an international century against Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022. Virat scored his first ton in the dead-rubber encounter against the Afghan team, but much to the relief was his wait for the hundred that had eluded him since 2019.
5. Suryakumar Yadav
Enjoying the form of his life, Suryakumar Yadav busted onto the scene at Trent Bridge when he scored a hundred against England. He notched 117 off just 55 deliveries to the Indian side home to mark his first T20I hundred for the nation.
6. Deepak Hooda
In and out of the team, Deepak Hooda made the most of his opportunity in the Ireland tour of 2022, when the big boys were rested. Hooda scored 104 off 54 deliveries to guide the Indian team home. The hundred was enough for him to cement his place in the team as enjoyed his revival at the international stage.
