Kuldeep Yadav wickets: It’s a rare sight to see a left-arm chinaman playing the game. Over the years we have seen players like Brad Hogg from Australia, Paul Adams from South Africa, Sir Garfield Sobers from West Indies and to name a few. These were some of the greatest Chinaman bowlers ever to play the game, but when we talk about India, there’s no one greater than the Kanpur born lad Kuldeep Yadav.
India’s very own chinaman Kuldeep Yadav is one of the most impactful white ball bowlers, especially in the middle stages of the game. He is the only Indian bowler in history to scalp not one but two hattricks in international cricket (both in ODIs).
Not one but two Hattrick’s to cherish
Kuldeep Yadav achieved his maiden and memorable hattrick against Australia in 2017 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and followed it up with another one against West Indies in the year 2019 in Vizag.
The chinaman has ranked himself among the finest bowlers in the world who have taken 2 hattricks in ODIs. Besides Kuldeep, this rare feet is achieved by legends like Wasim Akram (PAK), Saqlain Mushtaq (PAK), Chaminda Vaas (SL), and Trent Boult (NZ). Only Lasith Malinga with three ODI hattricks is ahead of Kuldeep Yadav. Below are his career stats till January 2023,

Kuldeep Yadav IPL
Kuldeep Yadav has been playing the Indian Premier League since 2012, but he got his first IPL games after a long wait of 4 years, i.e., in 2016. The left-arm chinaman was picked by Mumbai Indians in the 2012 IPL where he didn’t get a game. 2 years later in 2014, Kuldeep was transferred to Kolkata Knight Riders but had to wait till 2016 to get his first game.
He made his IPL debut against Mumbai Indians in Eden Gardens on 13th April 2016, and ended up with a solitary wicket from his quota of 4 overs giving away 37 runs. He played only three games that season and picked up 6 wickets. He remained with KKR until the 2021 season on papers, but his last IPL game with KKR came in the 2020 season where he featured only in four games and got a solitary wicket to his name.
His performance was on a slump since the 2019 season and the Kolkata Knight Riders team management were clueless to use Kuldeep. He was benched after 4 matches in IPL 2020 and the 2021 season was taken by knee injury and rehabilitation. Kuldeep, however, got a boon in the 2022 season when he got picked by Delhi Capitals and the left-arm chinaman didn’t disappoint his new franchise as he became the leading wicket-taker of the season.
Kuldeep Yadav wickets were right on track again as he ended up with 21 scalps for Delhi Capitals in the season. 2022 IPL season was surely a rebirth of Kuldeep Yadav who was once drowning into deep waters, especially between late 2019 till 2021 where he even lost his place in the national side.
