Harbhajan Singh versus Mumbai Indians: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made a winning start to the IPL 2021 campaign following a 10-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Asked to bat first by SRH captain David Warner, Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi made the toss look an irrelevant moment with the duo adding 93 runs off just 50 balls.

In line with the result, it’s not normal for a captain, irrespective of the sports, to flirt with the winning combination. Remember the 2003 Cricket World Cup when, despite the whole of India bellowing for a change, Saurav Ganguly stuck with Dinesh Mongia. But the game has come a long way. Performances decide a player’s spot in the playing 11.
Will Harbhajan Singh Play Against Mumbai Indians?
That’s why, after what we saw in the KKR vs SRH match, we may see one change in the KKR Playing 11 against Mumbai Indians.
IPL 2011: Rahul Tewatia’s stunning catch to dismiss KL Rahul
Harbhajan Singh bowled only one over against SRH; the first over in which he gave away 8 runs. It shows the lack of confidence Eoin Morgan has in Bhajji’s bowling. Considering that the next opponent is the reigning champions Mumbai Indians, it’s hard to see Bhajji getting the game time. Eoin Morgan and KKR management may look at other options like Kuldeep Yadav, or go for an overseas player like Sheldon Jackson.
KKR vs MI IPL 2021: Harbhajan Singh Praises Kuldeep Yadav
It’s no secret that Kuldeep Yadav is struggling for form and confidence. He is no longer an automatic choice either in the Indian cricket team or in KKR. But Harbhajan Singh has thrown his weight behind Kuldeep saying the young leggie will get better with time.
“When he entered the Indian team, no one taught him how to bowl. Whatever he did was his own merit reflecting in his bowling. The merit is still there and he has only gotten better with time,” Harbhajan Singh on Kuldeep Yadav.
“There are times when you bowl good spells and yet you don’t get wickets. It happened with all the renowned bowlers. I don’t see anything wrong with Kuldeep. He has been a match-winner and I know he is going to come good for KKR and also Team India soon,” he added.
Mumbai Indians will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday evening.
