India skipper Virat has already expressed his disappointment over India’s humiliating defeat at Lord’s in the post-match press conference where he said that he wouldn’t crib about the conditions. He urged his teammates to learn from his mistakes in the recently concluded Lord’s Test match and focus on trying to win the next match to make a comeback in the series.
Kohli also posted a message on his Facebook on Tuesday to speak to the fans of the Indian team after the innings-and-159-run defeat at Lord’s.
He wrote, “Sometimes we win and other times we learn. You never give up on us and we promise to never give up on you either. Onwards and upwards.”

India had lost the first Test match against England by 31 runs but in the second Test match, team India failed to even give a strong fight to their opponents as India suffered their first innings defeat under Virat Kohli’s leadership.
“We have to accept our mistakes and learn from them. We need to make sure that we do not think about the same mistakes again and try not to repeat the same mistakes again,” Kohli had said after the match.
“We know that we have a strong bowling attack that can pick up 20 wickets and we also have batsmen who can win us big games. It’s just that we have not been able to bring both the skills together.”
“I think we got the combination a bit off before the game. We have a chance to correct that in the next game and hope to make make the scoreline 2-1 and make this one an exciting series from there on.”
The third Test starts at Trent Bridge on 18th August and Indian batsmen will have to fight hard if they wish to keep their hopes of winning the series alive.
Kohli also dropped to No.2 in the latest ICC Test rankings for batsmen a day after India lost to the hosts.
