Indian captain Virat Kohli and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma are two of the modern-day legends of the game. Both of them have set high standards, which are quite difficult to match for their contemporaries. Known for varied technique, yet tremendous ability to performs consistently both of them enjoy a fan base that is unmatched by other modern-day cricketers. On his latest interview, Indian opener and their top order batting partner Shikhar Dhawan opened up on whom among these two he loves to watch the most.

In his latest interview, Shikhar Dhawan was asked to name the batsman he loves to watch the most among Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The Delhi born southpaw who has been their batting partner for many years gave a diplomatic answer. He said that both of them are unique and goes about their game differently. He added that he loves to watch both of them bat and considered himself lucky to be playing alongside these modern-day legends.

Dhawan added that his opening partner Rohit Sharma takes time at the early part of the innings to get set but makes up for that in the latter part of the innings. He went onto mention that it was tough to get Rohit out once he got set.
Kohli on the other hand keeps the scoreboard ticking from the start by taking singles and doubles occasionally. He added that he had always been stunned by the consistency and class of his skipper.
“Everyone is special and that’s how you create a team. Every individual is different. Individuality is very very important, that makes the team. Like Rohit, at the start, he takes his time and once he gets going, no one can beat him. On the other hand, Virat’s consistency and class, it’s amazing. I feel very lucky and grateful that I have been a part of this era.” Shikhar Dhawan stated.
Shikhar Dhawan eager to get back to the field
Dhawan mentioned that he is eager to get back to the field once the lockdown gets over. He also promised his fans that his team will win lots of matches once they get back together.
“I am looking forward to that and I am preparing quite strongly for that. Mentally, I am already there, I visualize that I am already playing greats knocks, I am in great touch. That will help me when I go and play in reality. That’s the mental exercise that I apply. Once the government allows, we will go and play and you will see us winning lots of matches for India,” Shikhar Dhawan added.
