Owner of Dukes balls steps into the debate of SG balls vs Dukes
The debate over SG balls and Dukes ball has become intense as the owner of Dukes ball Dilip Jajodia has expressed his opinion on this issue. He said that the Indian captain Virat Kohli is not an idiot to ask for Dukes ball even after winning the Tests against Windies. He also said that Mohammad Azharuddin’s views on this issue are wrong.
Dilip Jajodia criticises Azhar
Recently, former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin said that India went on to dominate at homes only after the SG ball was introduced in the 1990s. According to Azhar, the SG ball is the best for home conditions.
When asked about Azhar’s views, Jajodia said that he knows Azharuddin very well and he respects his views, but he feels that Azhar is wrong on this.
Jajodia pointed out that Kohli, Umesh Yadav and others are not idiots to ask for Dukes even after winning handsomely against the Windies in India. The owner of the Dukes balls feels that Azhar may be telling an old, out-of-date story.
He added that Kohli came up on his own with the demand for Dukes in a press conference. The bowlers complained even though they did well against the West Indies, much against what Azhar has said.

Jajodia is confident that there is no issue at all about the suitability of Dukes balls in Indian conditions.
Same ball cannot be used all over the world: Jajodia
At the same time, Jajodia said that it is incorrect to suggest that the same ball be used in all cricket matches all over the world for the simple reason that not all pitches are the same.
He feels that the solution is to have bespoke balls, suited for local conditions, but adhering to the same high standards as that of Dukes.
