On Wednesday, captain Kohli successfully took the Indian team to a solid 203 runs in the third Test against England at Trent Bridge. The Indian team managed to completely turn the tables on the hosts in this third Test. Though England is leading 2-1, India has put up a stellar performance. However, amidst all the thrashing, Kohli performed a sweet gesture.
When Kohli came out after the match ended, a child consistently called out Kohli’s name, asking him for a picture. Kohli gave in to the child’s demand and took a selfie with him.
On Thursday, Kohli once again reached the top position in the ICC Test Rankings for batsmen. Kohli was declared Player of the Match and gained his career-best of 937 rating points. This was courtesy of his 97 runs in the first innings and his 23rd Test century in the second innings. It also ensured India’s victory by 203 runs in Nottingham.

In the Nottingham Test, Kohli also managed to become the first captain to score 200 or more runs in a winning cause 7 times. He defeated Don Bradman and Ricky Ponting, Australian legends, who each managed this feat 6 times.
It was disappointing for Kohli to lose the top spot that he had achieved two weeks ago for the first time in his career, after scoring 149 in a losing effort at Edgbaston. He lost the top spot in the ICC Ranking to banned Australian former captain Steve Smith.
Currently, Kohli and the boys are on a 4 day holiday before they get back to practice ahead of their 4th Test match at Southampton. After two back to back losses and finally a win at Trent Bridge, we have to wait and see how the team fares in the 4th match.
