It seems that there is no stopping to Kohli the cricketer and Kohli the brand. The Indian captain is breaking records on the field as well as of the field. Thanks to his unique charisma and brand appeal the right-hand batsman is set to become India’s highest-earning sportsperson leaving behind former India cricket captain MS Dhoni.
Brand Kohli at the top with 21 endorsements
The Indian captain is one of the most active celebrities in terms of brand endorsements. Currently, he has 21 brands under his sleeve including some big names like Tissot, Audi, Puma, Uber, and Hero.
However, this doesn’t mean that Kohli is embracing every offer made to him. In fact, the Indian cricketer has been very choosy with his endorsements and has recently started refusing to endorse soft drinks and face lightening creams as he is promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Kohli soon to eclipse Dhoni?
Former India skipper MS Dhoni is the highest-paid Indian athlete as he took home $31 million in 2015. The way Kohli is performing right now, his brand value is sure to increase.
And this means that he might surpass Dhoni to become India’s highest-paid sportsperson.

Kohli ahead of Novak Djokovic but far behind the toppers
The fact that Kohli is the biggest icon of the sport which a country of billion plus people are obsessed with ranks him at number 83 in the Forbes’ list of world’s highest-paid athletes.
The Indian cricket captain has made an estimated $24 million in 2018 according to Forbes. This amount includes $20 million earned for brand endorsements and $4 million as the earnings from the game.

The Indian batsman is the highest paid cricketer and is also ranked higher than tennis superstar Novak Djokovic. However, when compared with toppers, Kohli is far behind.
According to Forbes, boxer Floyd Mayweather is the world’s highest-paid athlete with a pay of $285 million while the football player Lionel Messi is at the number two with a pay of $111 million.
