Virat Kohli and Kevin Pietersen were involved in a candid live session
On RCB’s Instagram page, India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli were involved in a live session with former England and RCB cricketer Kevin Pietersen. The two exchanged views on different topics and at the same time, Virat also revealed the lowest point of his career.
This is what one of the best batsmen around the world revealed;
“Lowest point in career was England tour 2014. That was one phase when as a batsman you know you will get out. That was one phase when I knew I will not score runs. Yet, you have to get ready, only to fail. That was lowest point, I promised myself I will never allow this to happen to me again, “
He further added, It happened because he was too selfish, and it was all about himself and therefore, it ate him up.
What went wrong in the 2014 tour for Virat
In the horrendous tour of England, Virat Kohli couldn’t even manage a 50 plus score from 8 innings, and particularly struggled outside the off-stump channel against James Anderson who treated Virat as his bunny on the tour.
He was deceived regularly outside the off-stump and the swinging conditions were making his task even more difficult.
Further in the chat, Virat showered praise on the fandom he has received over the years. He stated;
“Fandom comes with responsibility. I see a lot of backing and fun with love from fans. I am glad that people are able to show the fans on social media at times when others are not being able to. People push you to do better. Without fans, you would not getting motivation to do this everyday. Respect for all the fans, hats off to them.”
