KL Rahul Government Job: Indian vice-captain KL Rahul holds a government job. Yes, you heard it right. The Lucknow Super Giants skipper has a job in Reserve Bank of India, and he completed his degree during the COVID-19 Lockdown in 2020.

The 30-year-old right-hand batter completed his formal education at the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka. Incidentally, it was the same institute where KL Rahul’s father was a professor in the Civil Engineering Department. KL is one of the most prolific batters in world cricket and is also the vice-captain of the Indian team, but he got a job in RBI post during his playing career after his mother forced him to write the papers for an RBI job.

KL Rahul’s mother forced him to get a degree during lockdown

In his last appearance on the famous talk show ‘Breakfast with Champions,’ KL Rahul revealed that his mother always wanted him to get a degree. He said, “My mother still gives me s**t for not having a degree. Even during (the) lockdown she said – ‘why don’t you finish your 30 papers? Why don’t you sit down and write it and get a degree?”

He added, “I said ‘Mom what do you want me to do?’. Like I’m playing cricket, doing well for myself, you want me to go write 30 papers? She’s like, ‘Yeah, why not?’”

Rahul also revealed that how happy his parents were once he got a job in RBI. He said, “I had played four years for India already, but that didn’t make them happy. This was like – ‘yes, now you will be stable. I’ll just get a good salary. They look after the sports people really well. Can’t ask for more.”

KL Rahul is all set to tie knot with his longtime girlfriend and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. Both Rahul and Shetty are expected to get hitched in January 2023.
