Who won today’s IPL match?: The Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) so far has provided an enthralling contest between bat and ball. And so was the 19th match of the season between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC). But, it was the Rishabh Pant-led side who showed better skills on the day and clinched the important moments to seal a high-scoring encounter. They thumped KKR by 45 runs to claim their second win of the season.

It was an exhibition of high class batting by Delhi Capitals, who were asked to bat first in Mumbai. Openers Prithvi Shaw (51) and David Warner (61) went after the bowlers from the ball 1 and notched up a sensational 93 runs partnership. Skipper Rishabh Pant played a blistering cameo of 27 runs batting at 3. KKR then showed a great fightback and slowed DC’s run rate by taking wickets in quick succession. A fiery finish then by Axar Patel (22*) and Shardul Patel (29*) helped them regain the momentum and post a mammoth total of 215 runs on the board.

Chasing the target, KKR tried too hard upfront and in the process lost both the openers Ajinkya Rahane (8) and Venkatesh Iyer (14) inside the power play. But after that Skipper Shreyas Iyer (54) and Nitish Rana (30) steadied their side’s innings by stitching 69 runs partnership. However, after Iyer, Sam Billings (15) and Pat Cummins (4) perished in quick succession of time. Kuldeep Yadav turned the game towards his side by taking 3 wickets in 16th over . Andre Russell tried hard but in the end the target was too much as DC completed a comfortable 45 runs victory.

Delhi Capitals (DC) leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was awarded Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The leg-spinner put on a staggering display of spin-bowling and returned with the figures of 4/35. Kuldeep first removed Shreyas Iyer and the came back into the attack to take three wickets in Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine and Umesh Yadav to completely the turn towards his side. He also became the joint-leading wicket taker in this season with 10 wickets to his name.
