KKR have one of the strongest and the most balanced squads in IPL 2019. And importantly their star players are in fine form. Despite these positives the franchise has lost two of their six games and if not for Andre Russell’s last moment magic they would have lost atleast two more.
With the Indian Premier League season 12 getting into its third, week KKR need to fix the chinks that exist in their armor asap while Delhi Capitals on the other hand are in a similar territory.
Delhi’s three wins in this season have come courtesy of individual brilliances of their young guns but they are still waiting for their team to stand up as a unit.
But when the two teams will meet on April 12 all of this won’t matter as the talking point will be Rabada vs Russell.
Venue:
In four innings in this year at Eden Gardens, the lowest score has been 181. Expect nothing different and the fact that both sides have some power hitters should make it a big scoring game.

Form guide:
Kolkata’s so called balanced batting order has collapsed twice so far in IPL season 12 and this should serve as an alarm. Their spinners too have leaked runs while pace attack is a worry too.
Despite these weaknesses KKR are a formidable unit thanks to their ability to emerge as bigger than some of their parts.
Delhi on the other hand has been inconsistent but their pace bowling attack has found form. The biggest challenge for them is to bring some spine into their middle order.
Key Numbers:Â
- In head to head battles, KKR has won 13 while Delhi has won 10 matches.
- The Eden Gardens has been a difficult venue for DC. They have won only once in eight IPL games played here against KKR.

Players in focus:
That searing yorker in the super over is still fresh as Kagiso Rabada once again gets set for a clash against KKR. The pacer has played six matches in IPL 2019 and importantly hasn’t been wicketless even once.
Against a powerful batting line-up of KKR he will be Delhi’s ace weapon. Do watch out for Sunil Narine being peppered by nasty short stuff with the new ball.

With Russell and Rana getting the centerstage Dinesh Karthik hasn’t had a lot of opportunities so far in IPL 2019. Most importantly he is striking at 118.18 this season, his lowest since 2012. Can the KKR skipper turn things around at Eden Gardens? The good thing, when these sides met the last time, Karthik scored a fifty.
