The veteran West Indian Kieron Pollard has called time on his Indian Premier League (IPL) career. Today (Tuesday, November 15), the 35-year-old penned a heartfelt note via Twitter, expressing his emotions regarding the departure. Earlier, in April 2022, Pollard had retired from international cricket too.
Pollard has been an indivisible part of Mumbai Indians (MI). The franchise bought him in 2009 and kept retaining the former West Indies cricketer ever since. Pollard tasted lifetime success with the MI and was a part of their all five title-winning runs.

The righty batter furthermore said that he is grateful for the support he received to date and thanked the team management, the owners, and his family and friends.
In the end, Pollard wrapped up the letter by saying, ‘Kieron Pollard – the Mumbai West Indian’. The Trinidadian cricketer undoubtedly shared a special bond with the franchise, the city of Mumbai, and India.
New batting coach for Mumbai Indians!
However, Pollard clearly stated that it’s not an ’emotional goodbye’ as he has agreed to work as a batting coach for MI in the IPL. He will also represent MI Emirates, the team owned by the MI in UAE International League T20.
Besides, Pollard’s IPL career was nothing but full of wonders. The all-rounder played numerous match-winning innings for his side. He scored 3412 runs in 171 innings with 16 fifties in his account.
