Sunrisers Hyderabad have lost both their matches in the Indian Premier League 2021 so far. And the one player the franchise has missed the most is New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson because it was SRH’s fragile middle order that triggered both the losses. So as the franchise gears up for their third game, fans are keen to know whether Kane Williamson will be a part of the team’s playing XI. Sunrisers Hyderabad have given an official update on this issue.
Kane Williamson gives update on his recovery
Right-hand batsman Kane Williamson missed the first two games in IPL as he is recovering from his injury. SRH’s official Twitter handle posted a video of Williamson yesterday in which he gives an update on his recovery and makes it clear whether he will feature in the important clash against Mumbai Indians.
Williamson explains in the video that he has been focussed to get pain-free as quickly as possible and he is certainly tracking really nicely and hoping to be fit and ready within the week.

He also stated that it has been a bit of a balance between practice and rehab and sort of things. But he made it clear that, for the most part, the progression is been really good. So the New Zealand cricketer is pretty optimistic about being close to full fitness very soon.

No Williamson against Mumbai Indians?
Williamson made it clear that he is yet to recover fully and hopes to regain full fitness by the end of the week. This clearly means he is set to miss today’s clash against Mumbai Indians.

So with no Williamson, it will again be a tough ask for SRH management to ensure they have a strong middle-order. J Bairstow has looked good but he hasn’t found able company. Manish Pandey has got the runs but has failed to keep the temp going and has infact ended up hurting team’s chances.
Williamson has scored 1619 runs in IPL so far at an average of 39.48 and importantly he has scored 15 fifties in 53 matches.
