This is not the first time for Jofra Archer
The heat of racism is not the first time Jofra Archer has received. The 24-year old who was one of the architects in England’s World Cup 2019 glory had posted a screenshot of his Instagram when a user made a racist comment on him last month. He commented on the screenshot he shared on his Instagram post, which read;
“I [have] given a lot of thought about reacting to this and I hope that no one else has to deal with stuff like this on a regular basis, it isn’t ever acceptable and should be addressed properly in my opinion. I will never understand how people feel so freely to say these things to another human being, it baffles me.”
Even in November 2019, Archer went through something like this when England were on a Test tour of New Zealand. He was racially abused after the first Test at Mount Maunganui. He got racist remarks while walking back to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs in the second innings of the Test match. Later, he revealed;
“A bit disturbing hearing racial insults today while battling to help save my team. The crowd has been amazing this week except for that one guy.”
Later, the New Zealand Cricket announced that the 28-year old man who admitted his offense was banned from attending any International or domestic matches for the country.
