Joe Root compares Ben Stokes with Virat Kohli
The Indian captain Virat Kohli is known for his aggressive intent and the fact that he always wants to lead by an example is a massive quality for any captain.
In a recent chat show when Joe Root was asked about how Ben Stokes would fare as a captain, he told Kim
You know virat(Kohli) goes out there and performs and expects everyone to go and do the same within the same team and I imagine that’s how Ben Stokes will go about his business
He further added that the all rounder already has earned huge respect from the team mates for his remarkable performances over the years for England.
He is already a big leader in the team as the vice captain. There’s a huge amount of respect for him. He obviously accomplished so much within the game and within test cricket that he is more than well enough equipped to do a really good job
Joe Root on saliva ban
The latest rule implemented by ICC is the ban on the usage of saliva which could have a huge impact on bowlers as once the ball loses its shine, the bowlers have no other options to shine the ball. When asked about the new rule, the England’s red ball captain Joe Root was quietly confident about the rule not affecting their bowlers.
I don’t think it would change a huge amount in England. It depends, obviously, in terms of the conditions when it’s a little bit more overcast, there’s not been much cricket played in the squares and outfield should be very lush
