Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action since September 2022. He was included in the home ODI series against Sri Lanka in December last year, but was pulled out midway through the series. MI heavily bank on the services of their premier fast bowler and has been an integral member of the playing 11. Besides Bumrah, MI lack quality in Indian fast bowling department. With Jofra Archer himself coming into the thick of things after being out of the field for 2 years due to injury, it won’t be easy for him to be available throughout the tournament.

The BCCI has put the ODI World Cup at priority and want Bumrah to be available for the marquee event. The ODI World Cup will be held in October in India and Jasprit Bumrah will be a key figure in the Indian bowling line up.
